So I brewed my first batch on 1-23-2011
The Mr. Beer kit I used was the basic west coast pale ale refill. I must say it is very important to make sure you have an understanding of the directions before you get started. The number of times I had to re-sanitize my stirring spoon because I thought I was done with it was way too many. Also it is good to have a longer handled spoon for stirring, and to have 2 gallons of water in the fridge before hand instead of just one. But I think overall the brewing was a success. The wort was pit in the fermentor and the yeast was pitched. Time to wait for nature to take it’s course. My next brew I am going to make sure I have all the tools needed to make it easier on myself. The lhbs should be able to supply me with everything and it is close by so no shipping costs!
